The Diller designs are time tested and raced by the best, and keep finishing ahead of the rest. They have been evolving for the past 25 years into the fastest, best handling C-1 marathon racing canoes available today, dominating most C-1 races. With three new hull options, we have a canoe to fit every paddler's weight. They are the same basic design with a different amount of volume to displace the correct amount of weight for the size of the paddler. Not only are Savage River C-1s among the fastest designs they also are more stable and are better handling then other C-1s.
"I've raced in Savage River boats for over 12 years. I find the workmanship to be excellent, with no flaws in the hulls and no problems with the outfitting. They are always delivered when promised. I also like the fact that Savage River is constantly trying to improve the design of it's boats using input from the top paddlers."

"I'm a huge fan of my C-1. I owned a 191, very fast boat but incredibly
unstable in any kind of chop or wash. The D2 is as fast and much more
stable. Keep up the good work."

"I've been very happy with the boats you've built for me. I really appreciate your willingness to accommodate special requests in outfitting. Currently I race a D II X. It was exactly the weight advertised at 18 lbs. It's fast and tough, having survived the notoriously low water of the 2008 Clinton. The craftsmanship is tight. I couldn't be more pleased, and am looking forward to my next Savage River C-1."
- Steve Corbett Frederick, MD
"The Savage River C-1 is the best solo boat I have paddled. Mine is quite elderly now, and is still an awesome boat. I love paddling it. I decided to buy one at a USCA Nationals--the women's solo race. The only women not having trouble in the choppy water were those in Diller C-1s. If I ever needed another C-1, I would buy another Diller 18."
